Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the title apparatus inexpensive and free from the possibility of an obstacle, by arranging hollow slit rollers parallelly in a line so as to provide minute gaps therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A substance to be treated such as sewage sludge is thrown in a filter chamber 1 from the throwing chute 15 at the inlet 4 of said filter chamber 1 while hollow slit rollers 2 are rotated to the same feed direction by a drive motor 10. Whereupon, the substance to be treated is filtered through a large number of fine slits, which are provided to the surface of each hollow slit roller 2 so as to pierce the same, under gravity and gradually filtered while advances between the slit rollers 2. At this time, because the gaps between the slit rollers 2 are fine, only a filtrate is flowed out and the substance to be treated is changed upwardly in its transfer direction by the next slit roll 2 without being flowed out and receives large shearing effect to drain water present between particles of the substance to be treated and dehydration is promoted.
