Summary:PURPOSE:To make an amount of transfer tail winding constant, by hanging yarn on a cylindrical guide having a spiral channel, rotating the cylindrical guide during transfer tail winding, and controlling the amount of transfer tail winding. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical guide 18 is rotatably supported on the yarn guide plate 19 positioned on the draw roller 3 and the traverse guide 12, and the spiral channel 18a is carvged on its peripheral surface. When a transfer tail winding is formed, the yarn 2 is stopped by the notched part 16a of the bobbin holder 16, cut by the rotation of the tapered bobbin 13, and wound round the tapered bobbin 13. The yarn 2 is pressed to the cylindrical guide 18, rotates subordinately the cylindrical guide 18, is transferred along the spiral channel 18a toward the free end of the cylindrical guide 18, and released out of the free end. After the yarn is stopped by the notched part of the bobbin holder, and yarn sent until the yarn is released out of the cylindrical guide forms a transfer tail winding on the tapered bobbin.
