PURPOSE:To extend the life of the water purifying capacity by constituting a titled purifier wherein the water is allowed to flow backward by changing the set position of a cartridge. CONSTITUTION:When the pressure at a stagnant part 28 becomes extraordinarily high due to the clogging of a filter 23 and a top packing is dropped into a notch 25 to leak the water, the top packing of a cartridge 6 is removed and the set position of the cartridge 6 is removed and the set position of the cartiridge 6 is changed so that a backwashing flow inlet 16 may be communicated with a changeover passage 9. When the water is passed while closing a purified water port 11 with the tip of a finger, the water flows backward in the cartridge 6 in the direction reverse to the normal use through a tap 8, a cock 4, the changeover passage 9, the backwashing flow inlet 16, the filter 23, activated carbon 22, a hole 27, the stagnant part 28, the notch 25, a clearance 31, and a discharge port 30. The filter 23 and the activated carbon 22 are backwashed in this way, and the clogging solids are removed.
