Summary:PURPOSE:To control suction pressure inside a bearing box to be a proper value as well as to reduce a contamination of oil due to te inhalation of dust from a sling wheel part, by keeping up the inside of the bearing box of a steam turbine into the suction pressure, while installing a regulating valve in the point midway in an outside air leading pipe of the bearing box. CONSTITUTION:A suction pressure regulating device 22 is installed inside a bearing box 12 of a steam turbine. This device 22 consists of each of outside air leading pipes 23 and 25 and an air control valve 24 installed in the midway between these pipes 23 and 25, while it is provided with an air breather 26 at the air inlet side. durig turbine operation, the inside of the bearing box is kept up with suction pressure but when a suction pressure valve of a manometer 28 is higher than the normal value, a handle 27 of the air control valve 24 is opened, opening this valve 24, and leads the outside air inside, thus the suction pressure is kept into its proper value so that the inhalation of duct from a slinger wheel part 28 is well reducible.
