PURPOSE:To better correct an orbit near the deflection face by providing the second pair of magnet pieces for generating a multipole magnetic field between the first pair of magnet pieces for generating a multipole magnetic field and the deflection yoke. CONSTITUTION:The first pair of magnet pieces for generating a multipole magnetic field such as quadripole or the like as before is mounted in the position shown by a plane 18 between an electron beam discharge port of a electron gun 17 and a deflection yoke 2. And the second pair of magnet pieces for generating the quadripole magnetic field is mounted in the position shown by the plane 19 between said pair of magnet pieces and the deflection yoke 2. In case both side beams 8 and 9 discharged from the electron beam discharge ports of the electron gun 17 are directed in the opposing vertical directions, their orbits are made to change the directions firstly by the first pair of the magnetic pieces while secondly being changed into the direction to be back by the second pair of magnet pieces. Thereby, both side beams 8 and 9 are to proceed about along the plane including the tube axis and the horizontal axis 11 thus preventing generation of a misconvergence pattern.
