Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a roll mark, and to execute effectively a shape control by dividing an auxiliary roll into plural pieces, moving the right and left, and the upper and lower intermediate rolls in the reverse direction to each other, and lubricating a bitten part of the work roll and the intermediate roll. CONSTITUTION:In a multistage cluster rolling mill, each reinforcing roll 5, 6 and 7 is divided into plural pieces, respectively. Also, at the time of rolling, each intermediate roll 3, 4, each 3', 4', also each 3, 3' and each 4, 4' are moved in the axial direction opposite to each other. Also, a pressurized oil is sprayed to a bitten part of an upper work roll 2 and the intermediate rolls 3, 4, and a bitten part of a lower work roll 2' and the intermediate rolls 3', 4', by providing lubricating pipes 10, 11 and 10', 11'.
