Summary: | PURPOSE:To monitor surely and satisfactorily printed matter and to suppress generation of defectives by rotating a polyhedral prism in synchronization with the speed of the printed matter thereby stopping temporarily each print of the high speed printed matter. CONSTITUTION:The image of printed matter 2 shown by an arrow (a) is reduced by an objective lens 4 and is formed as the image moving from A' to B' in a position Y when the printed matter moves in the direction of an arrow from A to B and C. When a prism optimum for the size of the reduced image is rotated in the direction of an arrow (c) in synchronization, the image on the Y-plane magnified by an eyepiece 5 can be observed as if the image is still. The substantial and meticulous observation is thus made possible and therefore the fine printing defect is easily identifiable. |
