Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a multilayer pressure vessel which can easily perform supersonic angle beam scanning from the single layer structure side by alternately combining a unit cylinder of multi layer structure and a unit cylinder of single layer structure to form a drum portion of composite structure. CONSTITUTION:Mirror portions 1, 17 of single layer structure and a drum portion comprising unit cylinders 3, 7, 11, 15 of multi layer structure and unit cylinders 5, 9, 13 of single layer structure are coupled to each other by peripheral welded joints 2, 16, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 to form a multilayer pressure vessel. If it is necessary to provide a nozzle 20 on the drum portion, the nozzle is fixed to the unit cylinder 9 of single layer structure. Thus, as at least one side of welded joint of each unit cylinder 4-14 is of single layer structure, supersonic angle beam scanning can be easily performed from the single layer side. Accordingly, the multilayer pressure vessel can be subjected to defect check similarly to a pressure vessel of single layer structure.
