Summary: | PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of inert gas used for purging air and shorten the time for purging air by inflating a balloon in a tank for storing combustible gas, when the air in the tank is purged. CONSTITUTION:Previous to the pouring of the combustible gas such as liquefied natural gas and liquefied methane gas into a tank after the tank is constructed or after periodic inspection, the feeding port 3 or other piping for the air purging gas constituted of inert gas 6 such as nitrogen gas which exists in the ceiling part of the tank constituted of an outer tank 1 and an inner tank 2 is opened, and a balloon 5 is inserted from the liquefied-gas taking-out port 4 at the bottom part of the tank and expanded. When the balloon 5 is expanded to a desired state, inert gas 6 is supplied from the feeding port 3, and the air which exists between the balloon 5 and the tank is diluted and substituted, and a valve 7 is operated to discharge the air of the balloon 5 and allow the balloon 5 to contract, and further inert gas is supplied. Then the balloon 5 is removed, and purging operation is completed. |
