PROTECTING CIRCUIT OF DC/DC CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To prevent the input side of a DC/DC converter from shortcircuiting by opening the input side of the converter even if any of a switching element and a magnetic flux resetting diode is shortcircuited. CONSTITUTION:The primary windings W21, W22 of an excess current detecting transformer T2 is...

Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the input side of a DC/DC converter from shortcircuiting by opening the input side of the converter even if any of a switching element and a magnetic flux resetting diode is shortcircuited. CONSTITUTION:The primary windings W21, W22 of an excess current detecting transformer T2 is inserted between a switching element and the primary windings of a main trasformer T1, the output of the secondary winding W23 of the transformer T2 is inputted to one input terminal of a voltage comparator CMP through a rectifier D100, the tertiary winding W24 is provided in the transformer T1, the rectified output of the winding W24 is inputted to the other input terminal of the voltage comparator CMP, thereby controlling a drive unit 45 by the abnormal detection output of the comparator CMP even if switching elements Q1, Q2 or diodes D1, D2 is shortcircuited to protect so that the switching element does not induce the shortcircuiting defect.
