Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the titled reactor for the hydrocracking of a liquid oil and filled with granular catalyst, and free from the pressure drop nor clogging in the catalyst layer, by fixing a column in the reactor in a manner hung from the top of the reactor, wherein said column has the shape of an inverted trigonal pyramid furnished with a spiral screw plate at the circumference and the liquid discharge port at the top. CONSTITUTION:In the hydrocracking reactor 4 containing granular solid in a catalyst zone, and carrying out the hydrocracking of a liquid oil 10 by contacting the oil with hydrogen 7, a column 1 having the shape of a inverted trigonal pyramid is fixed at the center top in the reactor facing the sharp end of the pyramid downward. A spiral screw plate 2 is attached to the outer circumference of the inverted pyramid column 1, and a liquid discharge port is attached to the top of the column 1. The stock liquid oil 10 and hydrogen gas 7 are mixed together, fed to the reactor, and made to contact with the fluidized catalyst 5 in the reactor 4 to effect the hydrocracking of the oil. The vapor-liquid mixture extracted from the extraction port 3 is sent through the line 8 to the liquid-vapor separator 11 to obtain a gaseous product 12 and a liquid product 13.
