Summary:PURPOSE:To improve running durability and still durability and to decrease drop-out and head clogging by incorporating the compd. expressed by the specific chemical formula into a top coat film. CONSTITUTION:The top coat film consisting of the compd. expressed by the formula I and the compd. expressed by the formula II is installed on a magnetic layer formed by a diagonal vapor deposition method on a base body consisting essentially of Co. Such top coat film is formed by vapor deposition or vapor phase deposition with sputtering to the thickness of the monomolecular layer or above and 5-100Angstrom . In the formulas I, II, R1 denotes an alkyl group of 10-22C, Y1, Y2 denote hydrogen, alkyl group or cation of metal or onium, Y1 and Y2 may form together the bivalent cation. R2 denotes an alkyl group of 9-21C.
