Summary: | PURPOSE:To decrease the wear of a nozzle body and to extend the service life thereof by disposing plural pieces of small-diameter metallic pipes loaded into the nozzle body in such a way that the active gas supply pipes are enclosed by the inert gas supply pipes. CONSTITUTION:A gas accumulating chamber 2 is connected to the top end of a supply pipe 1 which supplies gas to the inside of a vessel of a molten metal. Refractories 3 loaded therein with plural pieces of the small-diameter metallic pipes 4 concentrically at nearly equal intervals are provided to contact with the upper part of the chamber 2, thereby constituting the gas blowing nozzle. The bottom ends of the pipes 4 are opened into the chamber 2 and the top ends are opened into the vessel of the molten metal. The chamber 2 is divided circumferentially to an inside gas accumulating chamber 2a and an outside gas accumulating chamber 2b so that simultaneous blowing of an active gas or inert gas from the chamber 2a to the pipes 4a and the inert gas from the chamber 2b to the pipes 4b is made possible. The wear of the refractories 3 is thus prevented. |
