Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an electronic engine controller which can entirely control an engine by a combination of relatively simple, digital control circuits. CONSTITUTION:The outputs of an air flow meter 14, an intake temperature sensor 16, a throttle position detector 24, a sensor for the degree of opening of an EGR valve 28, a lambda-sensor 80, an exhaust temperature sensor 84, a water temperature sensor 96 and an angle sensor for detecting the rotational position of the engine are A/D-converted and then processed. The EGR valve 28, an injection valve 66 and an ignition coil 40 are controlled depending on the processed data. A reference register group for retaining the processed data and an instantaneous register group for retaining the instantaneous conditions of the engine are provided. A control circuit 10 is so formed to select registers concerned from the register groups and another register group for retaining comparison results and connect said registers to comparators.
