Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent simply the waving of the web of an H-beam after hot rolling by determining the lowest waving temp. of the web according to the size of the H-beam. CONSTITUTION:The lowest waving temp. of the web of an H-beam after hot rolling is determined from the dimensional relation among the thickness of the web, the thickness of the flanges and the length of inside dimension. Both ends of the H-beam in the longitudinal direction are grasped at a temp. above the determined temp. to restrain the contraction force, and tensile plastic deformation is caused in a section of the H-beam by allowing the H-beam to cool or forcing it to be cooled. The H-beam is then released from the restraint at a temp. below the permitted release temp. determined from the relation between the size of each part and the restraint start temp.
