Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the assembly precision by providing coupling sections corresponding to a steering wheel main body and the outer periphery of a cover and coupling them prior to the caulking work. CONSTITUTION:The caulking hole 18 of a cover 17 is fitted over the caulking lug 15 protruded from a recess 14, and the coupling section 19 of the cover 17 is coupled with the coupling section 16 on the peripheral wall of the recess 14. The cover 17 can be fitted to a steering wheel main body 11 by caulking the tip of the caulking lug 18 by heat in sequence. In this case, the outer periphery of the cover 17 if fixed in the recess 14, thus preventing other caulking portions from being displaced or the outer periphery of the cover 17 from being floated during the caulking work.
