Summary:PURPOSE:To suppress the action of nuceosidase and improve the yield in the production of deoxyuridine using a substance containing deoxycytidinedeaminase mixed with nucleosidase, either by heating the material or by raising the reaction temperature. CONSTITUTION:Deoxyuridine is produced by reacting deoxycytidine with a material containing deoxycitidinedeaminase mixed with nucleosidase. In the above process, the material is heat-treated or the reaction temperature is raised (in both cases, the temperature is preferably >=55 deg.C and below the deactivation temperature of deoxycitidinedeaminase) to suppress the action of nucleosidase and prevent the by-production of uracil.
