Summary:PURPOSE:To easily edit a microfilm without cutting by sticking a label on the microfilm and detecting whether this label is present or not, and identifying an unnecessary part and editing the microfilm. CONSTITUTION:A control system 10 conveys the microfilm 1 in a direction P through a conveyance system 2B and also conveys a microfilm 3 for photography in a direction Q through a conveyance system 4B. At this time, the film 1 is stopped temporarily when the center of the 1st frame of the 1st edited part CP1 coincides with the optical axis of a lens system 6, and the controller 10 turns on a light source 5 to open a shutter 7. Light from the light source 5 is passed through the film 1 and lens system 6 to form an image on the film 3. The shutter 7 is closed and photography is repeated until a label detection sensor 8 detects the black label 20 stuck on the editing unnecessary part. Once the sensor 8 detects the label 20, the film 3 is stopped and the film 1 is conveyed; and the photography is restarted when the label 20 is not detected any more.
