Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the controlling accuracy of an objective lens, by providing a movable coil in such a way that the coil is arranged along the entire circumference of the magnetic clearance of a magnetic circuit and opened at the location of the optical path of incident light from the side of the housing, with the coil being wound around the optical axis of the objective lens under a closely- contacted condition. CONSTITUTION:A movable coil 27 is arranged along the entire circumference of the magnetic clearance of a magnetic circuit and opened at the location of the optical path of incident light from the side of the housing 21, with the coil being wound around the optical axis of the objective lens 29. The movable coil 27, bobbin 28 united with the coil 27 in one body, and objective lens 29 are driven in the direction of the optical axis of the lens 29 by driving force produced by means of a magnetic flux traversing the movable coil 27 and an electric current flowing through the coil 27, and thus, focusing control is made. Since the movable coil is wound around the optical axis of the objective lens under a closely- contacted condition in this invention, the rigidity of the movable coil is improved and vibration of the coil is reduced and, therefore, the accuracy of focusing control can be improved.
