Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent sticking and to prevent breakout arising therefrom by using fluxes having different melting temps. corresponding to the lapse time from the start of continuous casting of a steel. CONSTITUTION:The flux having >=1,250 deg.C melting temp. is added and used within 15min from the start of continuous casting of the steel. The flux having 900-1,200 deg.C melting temp. is thereafter used. The sticking arising from direct contact between a casting mold and billet is prevented by the above-mentioned method and the breakout to be generated by the sticking is prevented.
