Summary: | PURPOSE:To form a radiant body having a high infrared ray emissivity, and being a thin film and excellent in heat resistance by forming on a base material a coat consisting of specific SiC and double structure particles. CONSTITUTION:The radiant body is provided with a base material made up of a member selected from the group consisting of metal, ceramics, glass and the like, SiC, ZrO2 particles in which CeO2 is solidly dissolved, and TiO2. SiC contains therein at least a member of more selected from the group consisting of oxides such as Al2O3, SiO2, MgO, B2O and the like, as impurities. The ZrO2 particles are double structure particles 1 on the surfaces of which are formed coating layers of TiO2. A coat made up of SiC and double structure particles 1 is formed on a base material 3. The ZrO2 particles and TiO2 have refractive indexes which are greater than those of air and SiC from an optical point of view, and further refractive indexes of ZrO2 particles and TiO2 are different from each other. Hence, infrared rays are scattered in multiplicity by the double structure particles 1 in the coat or emissivity of infrared rays becomes high from optical absorption and reflection characteristics of said substances and at the same time, since coefficient of thermal expansion of the base material 1 is relatively close to that of the coating, the radiant body is excellent against thermal shock. |
