Summary:PURPOSE:To smoothly effect shift operation by pressing and energyzing the tip end of a shift arm against the bottom of an annular groove formed in the outer periphery of a transmission shift member by means of an elastic means. CONSTITUTION:A base end part 19B of a shift arm 19 is pivoted horizontally rockably on a boss part 2A of a transmission case 2, while an operating lever 20 is mounted on the outer end part of the shift arm extending outside the case 2, and a helical spring 21 being an elastic means for pressing and energyzing the shift arm 19 to the shift member 26 side as a whole is mounted on the boss part 2A of the case 2. The operating lever 20 is operated while applying press force in the shaft core direction of the helical spring 21, and thereby engagement between the shift member 16 and a rotary member 17 is released. Namely, a sliding movememt of the shift member 16 can be smoothly effected in a state wherein the boss part 16A goes ahead of the shift member.
