Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic mold which is easy to produce and has good dimensional accuracy by adhering the kneaded plastic material composed of sinterable metallic powder and synthetic resin binder to a blank material for the metallic mold, grinding the material after half curing to finish the same into the shape of a work forming part then subjecting the material to thermal decomposition of the binder and sintering of the metallic powder. CONSTITUTION:The kneaded material composed of the sinterable metallic powder which is the powder mixture composed of, for example, self-fluxing Ni alloy powder and ground Mo powder and a synthetic resin binder is heated to evaporate moisture. The sheet-shaped plastic material P formed by kneading the resultant conglomerate kneaded material while heating the same is adhered to the base surface 4 of a blank material 20 for a punch and after a work forming part 2a is roughly formed, the material P is heated up to the evaporating temp. of the org. solvent and is half cured. The half cured plastic material is ground and is finished to the shape and thickness of the part 2a. An enclosure 5 is attached to the material 20 to enclose the periphery of the material P. The surface of the material P is coated with ceramic powder and steel balls 6 are placed thereon to backup the powder. The material 20 is thereafter installed in a vacuum sintering furnace 7 and is heated, by which the decomposition of the org. material and sintering of the metallic powder are executed.
