PURPOSE:To provide a ball screw provided with a corrosion resistance, wear resistance and is of a high durability by forming at least one of a screw shaft, a moving nut, and balls by a ceramic material of a cermet material. CONSTITUTION:A ball screw A in which at least one of a screw shaft, a moving nut, and balls, is formed by a ceramic or cermet material, is assembled in a state where a screw shaft 1 forming a spiral root 1a of thread at its outer peripheral surface is screwed with the moving nut 4 formed by a combination of a fixing nut and a prepressing nut 3. A plurality of balls 5 are interposed between roots of threads 2a and 3a formed in the moving nut 4 in a freely rollable manner. Balls 5 which have rolled up to the end part pass through pipe shaped return tubes 2b and 3b and return. In this case, an elastic member 8 is stretched between the curved portions of arms 6 and 7 and the prepressing nut 3, and the prepressing nut 3 is pressed in the direction of the fixing nut 2 and hence an axial gap does not exist therebetween.
