Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a film for a typing ribbon, which is excellent in slittability, printability and ink coatability, by a method wherein a polyethylene resin having a specified density is melted, is formed into a film, and the film is stretched to a specified draw ratio. CONSTITUTION:A polyethylene resin having a density of not lower than 0.94 is melted, is formed into a film, and the film is stretched at least uniaxially at a draw ratio of 1.1-3.5, preferably, 1.5-2.5 to obtain the desired film for a typing ribbon.
