Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of distance measurement by a system wherein a moving body is made to approach an object according to an output signal from an object detecting means and then moved by a prescribed distance after a signal is received from a predetermined distance detecting means. CONSTITUTION:An object 1 is picked up by an ITV camera 3, an output signal therefrom is binary-coded, the position of the object on an XY plane is detected by a graphic center operation circuit 6 and a directional circuit 7, and an information thus obtained is sent to a robot controller 8. The robot 8 makes an arm 4 approach the object 1 based on said information, and the distance between the arm 4 and the object 1 is monitored constantly by a position detector while the arm is moved. When it is detected by a predetermined distance detecting circuit 93 that said distance turns to be a predetermined distance, the robot 8 is controlled so that it can recognize the height to the object 1, and the arm is made to approach the object by a prescribed distance. By this constitution, the accuracy of distance measurement can be improved, and an optical head can be made compact. |
