Summary:PURPOSE:To stop the transmission of an up signal from an information receiving device to a telephone circuit securely and utilize a communication line effectively by cutting off a carrier signal by an input circuit system for a carrier signal to a modem. CONSTITUTION:The adapter 15 of the information receiving device 1 consists of a modem 18 and a signal processing circuit 20 and a carrier signal interrupting circuit 35 is provided to the input circuit system for the carrier signal K1 between the output terminal of the carrier oscillator 21 of the circuit 20 and the modulating circuit 19 of the modem 18. A signal line 36 for transmitting the signal K1 is grounded by the switching element 37 of this circuit 35, a data end detecting circuit 38 is connected to the output terminal of a demodulating circuit 32, and its detection output K3 is supplied as an on control signal to the element 37. Then when the circuit 38 detects a transmission end signal from a data center, the element 37 is turned on and the signal line 36 is grounded to stop securely the transmission of the carrier signal K1 of the oscillator 21 from the modem 18.
