PURPOSE:To multiplex a signal without gap by reproducing a track jump signal multiplexed at the final line of a luminance signal and realizing track jump during a sound signal multiplex period so as to avoid disturbance of a special reproduction picture image. CONSTITUTION:A color video signal with high quality is brought into a line sequential signal by a TCI encoder 1 and the multiplexed position of the signal is brought by four lines in preceding over the position of the luminance signal. The sampling point of the output is changed by a sampling filter 2, the information is interleaved and the result is fed to the 1st multiplex circuit 5. Further, a control signal of control generating circuits 3, 4 and a signal stored in a memory 8 by applying A/D conversion to sound signals A1, A2 are fed to a circuit 5. The circuit 5 multiplexes the sound signals A1, A2 and a switch 11 multiplexes the track jump signal to the final line of the luminance signal. The video display code recorded by a recording section is reproduced by a reproduction circuit, track jump is executed during the sound signal multiplex preiod so as to prevent disturbance of the special reproducing picture.
