Summary:PURPOSE:To improve response and to reduce running cost by constituting a superconductive coil with mechanically or physically divided plural coils, by exciting operation connecting the coils in series by turns and by cooling each coil separately. CONSTITUTION:The first switches 8a-8d are closed and at first, the second switch 9a is closed and the second switches 9b and 9c are opened. Then, a current flows in a coil 1a. When the current reaches to the maximum limit of the coil, if the second switch 9c is closed and the second switch 9b is opened, the current which flows in the coil 1a and a coil 1b flows in a coil 1c after flowing in a protective resistance 6b for a short period. As above-mentioned, the coils 1a-1c are connected by turns and at the first period, the inductance is small and the rise time of the coil current Ic, consequently, the rise time of the storage or the emission power P of a superconductive coil is made shorter and the response becomes better.
