Summary:PURPOSE:To keep a prescribed high voltage output to a constant value by using an ROM storing a reference voltage to obtain a desired high output characteristic to a high voltage load current, against high speed high voltage load fluctuation of several horizontal periods. CONSTITUTION:A detection resistor 13 and a battery 14 detect the high load current of a flyback transformer 7 and the current is inputted to an integration circuit 15, which outputs a voltage corresponding to the integration value of the current at one horizontal period. The output voltage is converted into a digital signal at an A/D converting circuit 17 via a sample-and-hold circuit 16 and becomes an address signal to an ROM18. A reference voltage data to obtain a desired high voltage output characteristic to the high voltage load current is stored in advance in the ROM18. Thus, a data corresponding to the detected load current is read to a read output terminal of the ROM18. The data is fed to voltage control sections 9, 10 of the high voltage generating circuit via a D/A conversion circuit 19 and a filter 20.
