Summary:PURPOSE:To make the time required for transferring the contents of a register to a main storage device unnecessary to improve the data processing speed of a central controller by arranging general register groups three-dimensionally and using one-dimensional registers of them for save and recover of registers. CONSTITUTION:For example, a register save instruction is received when contents of each register reach the 0th face 20 in the save direction of an arrow Z. In a general register group 10, data is shifted once in the register save direction of the arrow Z. The pattern of a register R0 is changed from a state 30 to a state 31 where bit 0 of the register R0 is saved, and bit 0 in the register save direction of the arrow Z becomes empty. Consequently, the 0th face 20 in the register save direction of the arrow Z can be used in a fresh state. That is, register save is performed. In case of recover, the shift direction is opposite to the register save direction of the arrow Z in the same procedure.
