Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the tightness between a grid and paste by forming a raw paste layer of belt shape onto a paper body then pressing a light weight grid on it to produce a lead storage battery plate. CONSTITUTION:Paper member 2 is fed onto an endless belt 1 then raw paste is fed out in belt shape from an extruder 3 to provide a raw paste layer 4 and moves to the right. Then a light weight grid 6 expanded from lead alloy sheet is fed from a feeder 5 onto the raw paste layer 4 and pressed by a press 7 to burry the grid 6 in raw paste layer 4 thereafter it is further pressed by a roll press 9 and cut by a cutter 10 to form a lead storage battery plate. Consequently the tightness between the grid and paste on the lower face of grid 6 can be improved while the tightness is also assured on the upper face through reroll press, resulting in stable performance.
