PURPOSE:To control adaptively precedence of candidates of an output code string dynamically by holding weight information of one or plural fields and setting precedence of output candidates in accordance with this information and rationalizing weight information automatically. CONSTITUTION:In case of Kana (Japanese syllabary)-Kanji (Chinese character) conversion, an input code string is first inputted from a terminal equipment 1, and a dictionary retrieving part 4 is started through a terminal input control part 2 and an input storage part 3. The retrieving part 4 retrieves a dictionary item corresponding to the input code string and sets it to a dictionary item storage part 6. Next, a priority processing part 8 is started, and availability information of the storage part 6 and weight information of a class information storage part 7 are inputted to the processing part 8 to calculate priority information. When priority information as results are set, a classifying processing part 9 is started, and candidates are displayed on the terminal equipment 1 through an output buffer 10 and a terminal output control part 11 in order from the candidate having the highest priority information. The control part 2 changes weight information to rationalize it through a selection indicating information register 12 and a class weight change processing part 13. Thus, precedence of candidates of an output code string is controlled adaptively dynamically.
