Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain easily a plated product having excellent adhesion by subjecting an iron product with a plating liquid prepd. by bringing a plating liquid contg. zinc (alloy) as a component metal into contact with an inorg. ion exchanger and refining the concn. of lead which is an impurity down to a prescribed value or below. CONSTITUTION:A plating liquid contg. lead as an impurity and zinc or zinc alloy as a component metal is brought into contact with an inorg. ion exchanger such as antimonic acid or the like to adsorb away selectively the lead. An iron or steel product is electroplated by using the plating liquid after refining the concn. of the lead in the plating soln. to <=3mg/l in the above-mentioned way. The above-described inorg. ion exchanger in the form of particularly a granular, film or honeycom structure shape is preferably used. The most preferable method of bringing the plating liquid into contact with the inorg. ion exchanger is a column method. The method of this invention has the advantage in that the plated product having excellent adhesion is obtd. and that repeated plating is made possible by making up the required component of the plating liquid. |
