Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reactive terminal NCO group-contg. curable composition of high adhesivity, by the reaction etc. between each specific organic diisocyanate and 2-hydroxy-3-alkyl-phenoxypropyl(meth)acrylate. CONSTITUTION:The objective curable composition can be obtained by either the reaction between (A) an organic isocyanate of formula I (X is divalent aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic group) (e.g. 2,4-tolylene diisocyanate) and (B) 2-hydroxy-3- alkylphenoxypropyl(meth)acrylate of formula II (R1 is H or methyl; R2 is 1-9C alkyl) in an amoutn of 1-1.5mol per mole of the component (A) or the reaction between the above reaction product and a phenol compound of formula III (R3 is H or methyl) to effect blocking the isocyanate group. EFFECT:Readily curable by ultraviolet rays, electron beams or peroxides; showing high adhesiveness. USE:Coatings, adhesives, etc.
