Summary:PURPOSE:To form a multicluster type mill capable of preventing a rolling material from causing a roll mark by making left and right, upper and lower intermediate rolls shiftable in the mutually reverse axial-directions and specifying the ratio of shifting speed to roll peripheral speed and that of shifting force to interroll load. CONSTITUTION:A titled mill is constituted of a pair of upper and lower rolls 2a, 2b, esch two-roll set up upper and lower intermediate-rolls 3a, 3b for supporting each rolls 2a, 2b, and each several number of upper and lower backup rolls 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b for supporting the upper and lower rolls 3a, 3b. Further, each of the backup rolls is divided into plural ones in the longitudinal direction, and the rolls 3a, 3b at the left and right sides, and the upper and lower sides, are constructed to be shiftable in the mutually reverse axial-directions respectively. In the above-mentioned constitution, the ratio of shifting speed to roll peripheral speed is regulated to <=2.0X10<-4>, and the ratio of shifting force to interroll load to <=0.06. As a result, a rolled product is manufactured without causing a roll mark in a rolling material.
