Summary:PURPOSE:To enable to compensate evaporation lag, by controlling a quantity of fuel supply by obtaining an evaporation quantity of fuel by making use of lambda (excess air ratio) sensor and obtaining a correction value by a time constant of evaporation to be obtained through a difference between the quantity of fuel supply and the evaporation quantity. CONSTITUTION:During operation of an internal combustion engine 101, a basic injection quantity Tp is computed by control circuit 112 through an engine speed N based on a crank angle sensor 111 and a suction air quantity Q based on an air flow sensor 119. Then injection valves 109-109''' each are kept controlled by an injection quantity T which is constituted by correcting the basic injection Tp with a correcting value K. In this instance, a lambda sensor 124 measuring an air- fuel ratio continuously extending to a rich sphere from a lean sphere is provided on an exhaust pipe 110, an output signal of which is applied to the control circuit 112. Then the correcting value K which is ascribable to an evaporation lag of fuel is obtained based on a result of comparison between a set value lambda0 of the air-fuel ratio and a measured value lambda of the same is obtained and the basic injection quantity Tp is made to correct by the correcting value K.
