PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a device and to input a color picture with high accuracy by arranging plural-column optical conversion elements in the direction which is in parallel with the scanning direction on the same surface which forms an optical image optically, and by providing a color filter to each element. CONSTITUTION:An original stand 2 of a picture input device is shifted mechanically by a motor 1, and the picture of an original 4 on this original stad 2 is scanned by a fluorescent lamp in the direction which is vertical from the shifting direction. The reflection light, which is obtained by the irradiation of this fluorescent lamp 5 through a slit 6, is optical-path-converted by a reflection mirror 7, and is image-formed on an image formation surface 11 by an image formation lens 8. Plural line sensors 12-1-12-3 are arranged at the image-formation surface 11 in parallel in the scanning direction. Filters R, G and B are arranged on respective sensors 12-1-12-3. The time delay of the color information which is obtained by the same location is eliminated using delay circuits 13-1 and 13-2, and a color picture with a simple constitution and high accuracy is inputted.
