Summary:PURPOSE:To perform efficient operation by obtaining the highest and the lowest limit values of the refrigerant flow of a condenser and also arbitray medium pressure and efficiency of the condenser between the abovementioned values and setting a target pressure of the condenser on the basis of a secondary function which satisfies the function of said pressure and efficiency. CONSTITUTION:In case of controlling the pressure of a condenser by setting the most appropriate pressure of a condenser as a target value and adjusting a flow of seawater (refrigerant) according to its deviation from the detected pressure of the condenser, operation is first performed to obtain the values of pressure P1, P2 and efficiency E1, E2 of the condenser corresponding to the highest and the lowest limit values of the flow of the seawater. Then, the width DELTAT2 of raise of the seawater temperature is compared with its highest value DELTATH and, in case of DELTAT2>DELTATH, operation is performed to obtain a pressure P3 of the condenser and corresponding to this pressure, efficiency E3 which equalize DELTAT2 to DELTATH. In case of E1<E3<E2, the pressure P3 is made the most appropriate condenser pressure P, while in case other than the above, the condenser pressure PM corresponding to the maximum value EM of a secondary function is compared with P1, P3 and, P1, P3, PM are set as the most appropriate condenser pressure P for respective cases of PM<P1, PM>P3 and others.
