Summary:PURPOSE:To dye the outer circumference of a lens while varying optionally the width of the dyeing by providing a templet and the lens so that they rotate synchronously, rotating the templet in abutting on a patch, and displacing the lens according to the displacement of the templet. CONSTITUTION:The templet 27 is fitted to a rotating shaft 26 which is driven by a motor 22 in a lens holder, and a spectacle lens 34 is fitted to the holder 32 of a rotating shaft 31 so that they rotate synchronously. This holder is placed on a base 10, the templet 27 is brought into contact with the patch 13, and screws 4 and 9 are adjusted to dip a lens 34 in a dyeing solution. The motor 22 is rotated in this state to move up and down the lens 34 according to the displacement of the templet 27, dyeing the outer circumference of the lens. The angle of rotation is adjusted by operating lock screws 4 and 9 to adjust the dyeing width. Consequently, the outer circumference of the lens is dyed while the dyeing width is varied optionally.
