Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the set time for a copying mode by providing a means for selecting one of the copying modes consisting of optional combinations of plural copying functions and a means for displaying the content thereof. CONSTITUTION:The result of a judgement 51 indicates YES at the point of the time when an operator depresses simultaneously a copying mode key 25, for example, '' I '' and a mode instruction key 26, in an operation (1). Copying modes of an unmagnification, size A4 and 2 copies are set at the '' I '' of the key 25 when the operator depresses respectively the unmagnification key of a variable power selection key 23, the size A4 key ''3'' of a paper feed selection key 21, and ''2'' of a numeric key 17 in an operation (2). Then the mode data thereof are stored in the storage region of an RAM33 corresponding to '' I ''. When the operator depresses simultaneously the key 25 and key 26 again in the operation (3), the result of a judgement 53 shows YES, and a CPU executes processing 57 to show the display corresponding to the key '' I '' on a display device 27. When the operator depresses a print key 15 without executing the operation (3) right after ending of the operation (2), the result of a judgement 55 shows YES and the CPU executes processing 56, thereby executing the precribed copying operation.
