Summary:PURPOSE:To secure a given accuracy of paper feeding by a method in which papers are supplied by normally turning a platen and then reversely turning the platen, while the paper is closely contacted with the platen, and the slackening of the paper is removed. CONSTITUTION:A platen 1 is turned by application of a slight excess of pulse number beyond a required pulse number to a paper feeding motor M1 and a paper P is fed. Afterwards, an excessive puls number is applied in opposite polarity to the motor M1 to reversely turn the platen 1. A clutch 8 is internally provided to an arm 7 supporting both ends of the support shaft 6 of the roller 5 to prevent the reverse turning of the support shaft 6 and the upper roller 5, and thereby the upper roller 5 becomes stopped. The sliding friction force of the upper roller 5 is made greater than that of the platen 1. Accordingly, even when the platen 1 is reversely turned, the upper roller 5 is in stopped state and the tip of the paper P is stopped by the upper roller 5. On the other hand, since the lower roller 4 reversely turns in the wake of the platen 1, the rear end of the paper P is sent toward the opposite direction together with the lower roller 4 and the platen 1, and the slackening of the paper P is thus removed.
