Summary:PURPOSE:To enable removal of the most of a developer by the 1st fur brush from a photoreceptor and removal of the entire remaining developer by the 2nd fur brush from the photoreceptor by providing the two fur brushes to constitute a cleaning device. CONSTITUTION:When a photoreceptor 1 past a transfer stage arrives at a cleaning section, the surface thereof is first rubbed by the 1st fur brush 101 rotating at a low speed and the developer contg. the remaining toner is removed from the surface of the photoreceptor. The brush 101 rotates at a low speed and since it has a small diameter, the brush is stained in a short time by the toner remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 and even if it is rotated at any high speed, the toner remains to the extent of fog on the surface of the photoreceptor. Such fog toner is cleaned by the 2nd fur brush 102. The load acting on the brush 102 is therefore considerably decreased and the developer on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is thoroughly removed.
