Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce leakage of a developer and damage of a photoreceptor by separating a member for preventing scattering of the developer from a developing device, and uniting it with the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:The holes 21 of the support 20 of the developer scattering preventing member 14 are fitted to the outsides of both end parts of the central shaft 12 of a photosensitive drum 11, and the support 20 is fixed rotatably around the shaft 12. A space S between the member 14 and the drum 11 is adjusted by adjusting the position of the holes 21. Since the drum 11 faces the opening 16 of the member 14 through the constant slight space S during a developing process, an amt. of toner leaked through the space S is very small. Since the member 14 and the developing device are perfectly tightly closed with sponge 18, the developer does not leak from this joint.
