Summary:PURPOSE:To produce a rigid urethane foam nonflowable and excellent in brittleness resistance and heat insulating property, by reacting a specified polyol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a reaction catalyst, a blowing agent, a foam stabilizer and an open-cell forming agent. CONSTITUTION:To 100pts.wt. polyol component comprising a mixture of 75pts. wt. triethanolamine-derived polyether and 25pts.wt. ethylenediamine-derived polyether are added polymethylene diphenyl diisocyanate as an isocyanate component, a water-soluble tert. amine (e.g., dimethylethanol-amine) as a reaction catalyst, a blowing agent consisting of 10pts.wt. water, 70-75pts.wt. trichloromonofluoromethane and 20-15pts.wt. methylene chloride, an organosilicone block copolymer as a foam stabilizer, and 10-15pts.wt. glycerin as an open cell- forming agent, and the mixture is foamed into a low specific gravity open cellular rigid urethane foam of an expansion ratio of 100.
