Summary:PURPOSE:To use the same microprogram for computers of >= two kinds by checking a device discriminating code, generating a capacity mask value, and setting it to a capacity mask register. CONSTITUTION:A bit data from a device for storing device discriminating code is set to a bit (n) of a hardware setting register 9. Contents of the register 9 are shifted to an A-register 10, and also are shifted to the left by (n) bits by a shifter 11. A shift output of the shifter 11 is set to a Z-register 12. Whether a bit ''0'' of the register 12 is logic ''1'' or not is checked, and at the time of ''1'', it is decided to be a computer 1-B, and a buffer storage BS capacity mask value and a TLB capacity mask value are set as ''01111111'' and ''0111'', respectively. Also, when the bit ''0'' of the register 12 is logic ''0'', it is decided to be a computer 1-A, the BS capacity mask value and the TLB capacity mask value are set as ''00000000'' and ''0000'', respectively, and they are set to the A-register 10, respectively.
