Summary:PURPOSE:To make uniform temperature distribution at the upper and lower parts of an electrolyte to prevent deterioration of a plate by immersing in the electrolyte a good heat conductive pipe which contains a material evaporating or condensing at atmospheric temperature, and its both ends are sealed. CONSTITUTION:A copper pipe 4 is in contact with an eletrolyte 3 and methanol 5 accommodated in the pipe evaporates at the lower part where temperature is high to absorb latent heat and condense at the upper part where temperature is low to generate heat, that is, the lower part is cooled and the upper part is heated to make temperature uniform. Methanol 5 is converted to liquid at the upper part and flows to the lower part by gravity, and it evaporates again when temperature at the lower part is high. The pipe comprising other metal such as aluminum, iron is used in place of the copper pipe 4. Inorganic or organic materials having good acid resistance are used in addition to lead or lead alloy as a material covering the outer surface of the pipe, but good heat conductivity is essential. Bonding of the copper pipe 4 with plates is preferable to act as a fin.
