Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the acceleration performance of a vehicle, by automatically disconnecting a compressor from an engine when the accelerator pedal of the vehicle is depressed by more than a prescribed quantity. CONSTITUTION:When the vehicle is running at a constant speed, a microswitch 9 is open and a relay coil 34 is deenergized and a normally closed contact 34 is closed. Since a cooler switch 2 is closed at that time, a clutch 3 is energized by a battery 1 through the normally closed contact 34b and the compressor is coupled to the engine. When the accelerator pedal 4 is depressed by more than the prescribed quantity, the microswitch 9 is closed and the relay coil 34 is energized and the normally closed contact 34b is opened. As a result, the clutch 3 is deenergized and the compressor is disconnected form the engine.
