PURPOSE:To provide a titled rotary cooling roll which makes the thermal displacement in the width direction of a cooling ring uniform, to eliminate the uneven thickness of a sheet by making the pitch of the water passage groove of said ring increasingly larger toward both ends. CONSTITUTION:A rotary cooling roll of a production device of a thin metallic sheet has a cooling ring 1 shrinkage-fitted onto a backup ring 2 and brings said ring into contact with a thin steel sheet at the cooling effect which is decreased relatively by the increasing larger pitches P0-P4 of the passage grooves 3 of said ring from the central part of the ring width toward both ends. Such constitution of the rotary cooling roll contributes to the constant displacement of the ring 1 owing to its thermal expansion and the production of a thin metallic sheet having a uniform thickness.
