Summary:PURPOSE:To form a groove portion for producing dynamic pressure on a bearing shaft easily and with high accuracy by mounting a thin plate member having the groove portion formed on the outer periphery thereof on the bearing shaft, and then coating the upper surface of the thin plate member with polymer material having a small coefficient of friction. CONSTITUTION:A bearing shaft 2 is rotatably inserted in a cylindrical groove 3 formed in a bearing 1, and groups of grooves 4 are formed on the outer periphery of the bearing shaft 2. When a fluid moves in the cylindrical groove 3 at a fixed speed, dynamic pressure is produced by the pumping action of the fluid caused by the groups of grooves 4. In case of forming the above groups of grooves 4, a parcel groove 6 of a fixed shape is first formed on a metal thin plate 5 by etching or the like. Subsequently, the metal thin plate 5 is fitted in a groove portion 7 mounted on the outer periphery of the end portion of the bearing shaft 2, and the upper surface of the plate is thinly coated with Teflon or the like. Thus, the concave-convex portion 9 is formed to serve as a groove portion 4 with high accuracy.
